  1. Sapphire Blue was an excellent, humorous, and interesting book. I would recommend this to absolutely everyone. As Gwyneth tries to find out secrets about the Inner Circle her time traveling partner is rather annoying. The good- looking Gideon de Villiers is a sarcastic, lovable, and annoying character all in one. Gwyneth isn’t alone her best friend researches and gives her the best support. Her little demon friend, Xemerius, spies for her. Sapphire blue is an excellent book that will make you crave for more. The only downfall is that I have to wait another 1 year for the next book. This book is a very addicting one.

  2. Sapphire Blue by Kirsten Gier is suspenseful, exciting, romantic, with audacity-filled moments where you can’t help going “oh no _____ didn’t!”, hilarious, and involving. You can’t help but not like this book. This international selling book completes book 2 of the German series Girl in Time/Ruby Red Trilogy. It is translated to English and the way it is written is very interesting yet simple, but seems to have a need where the reader has to grab at the words. This book is about Gwenth, a brilliant heroine, who recently discovering in Ruby Red by Kirsten Gier that instead of her cousin, Charlotte, who was predicted to be the time-traveler in the family that she was instead. As she arrives to the Temple, she meets her time-traveling partner, Gideon, and begins to unravel the secrets that had been kept from her ever since her cousin had started to prepare to time-travel. She soons sees that she has a chilly response to her being a time-traveler and that some people do not trust her. She learns that the time-traveling machine, the Chronograph, exploits a secret when all 12 time-travelers blood has been poured into it, but Gideon and Gwen’s cousins stole one of the two machines and know it is up to Gideon and Gwen to get the blood from the past. They visit one traveler who refuses to give her blood and then their cousins appear and Gideon and Gwen escape and are waiting to be transported back in a church confessional. Gideon leans over to kiss her and that is where the book starts. Gwen makes a friend who is ghost of a gargoyle. Gwen has the power to see ghosts. Throughout the story, Gwen is being tested and brought to the past to face these test by the Count who began the society of time-traveling. Throughout these pages, Gwen is learning to act properly in that time period while Gideon plays with her feelings.
I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone because it is one of those books where you pick it up and you don’t want to drop it.

  3. Sapphire Blue by Kerstin Gier is the second book to the Ruby Red Trilogy. It’s a gripping story continuing Gwyneth and Gideon’s adventures through time travel. In this book, Gwyneth and Gideon’s relationship gets even more confusing as he displays signs of affection one day and the next day, he’s acting annoying with Gwyneth. He’s sending her mixed signals that just wrack her brain. She doesn’t completely understand the purpose of her mission as it is, but Gideon just has to make things more complicated for Gwyneth. Gwyneth is uncertain of why members of the Circle still don’t trust her, as they’re not telling her everything she needs to know. They’re still being very secretive. Gideon and Gwyneth are still trying to collect the blood of all the time travelers in order to close the Circle of Twelve. However, no one is sure of Count Saint Germain’s plan. They just know that they need to close the circle because that’s what he ordered the members to do. No one knows what happens when the circle is closed, but they’re just following the plan blindly. Gwyneth considers that Lucy and Paul might have the right idea to steal the chronograph (a time traveling machine) and take it back in time with them to prevent the closing of the Circle. She’s still deciding who’s to trust and who’s not to trust as she goes through the mind-blowing journey.

Gier has written yet another smashing addition to the Ruby Red Trilogy. The language she uses in the book is very easy to understand, and she thoroughly explains the concept of time traveling, so the reader is not confused about the plot line whatsoever. The concept of time traveling is difficult to write about, but Gier makes it seem effortless as her writing shows. She makes sure to include excitement and suspense in every chapter. There’s no point in the book where the story gets boring or uninteresting. It’s impossible to put down all the way through and it has become my new addiction. I’d recommend this book to people who like adventure, mystery, comedy, and romance. Girls would be more interested in this book, but it’s a great read for anyone. ~Amy Sukserm
