  1. Pretties, by Scott Westerfield, is the sequel to Uglies. It is a story about a sixteen-year-old girl named Tally. Tally is now a pretty, after turning herself in. Tally turned herself in because no pretty she knew would take the cure for the lesions they put in your head, so she had to become pretty. Tally is enjoying herself very much as pretty, until someone arrives and gives her note from when she was ugly. With the note, there were two pills for the cure. Tally and her new friend Zane each take a pill. They can slowly feel themselves becoming normal again. They both plan an escape with a few of their friends. They escape with their friends, but Tally is separated from them. She meets a group of villagers and befriends one of them. She realizes that the villagers are actually an experiment and are contained in a giant dome, but believe the world ends where the giant dome ends. Doctors come to visit the villagers and Tally escapes using their boards. She runs into David, her boyfriend when she was Ugly. David takes her to their campsite, but Tally finds a devastating surprise. When a tracker goes off, Tally may be forced to leave the boy she loves and lose him forever.

This was a very enjoyable book. I absolutely loved it. It is a great sequel to Uglies and I thought the plot was very good. The book was very well written and detailed. There are great descriptions in this book. My favorite part of the book is the ending of the book. This was my favorite part because it was very suspenseful to see whether Tally would leave Zane alone or stay with him and get taken back to the city. I also liked the ending of the book because at the ending, the reader realizes that Tally has become a Special and it gets the reader excited for the next book.

The only part of the book that I believe I would change would be the part where Tally was with the villagers. This was the most boring part of the book for me. There wasn’t a whole lot of action during this part.

I would recommend this book to anybody who is fan of adventure and dystopian novels. I believe that many people would enjoy reading Pretties and find it a wonderful book. I would also recommend this book to those who have read Uglies.
