  1. The Sorcerer’s Stone, by J.K. Rowling, is the first book in the famous Harry Potter Series. At the beginning of this book, Harry Potter is an eleven-year-old who lives with his aunt, uncle, and cousin. He is treated very badly and believes that his mom and dad died in a car crash. On Harry’s eleventh birthday, a huge man named Hagrid visits Harry and tells Harry that he is a wizard and so were his parents. He tells Harry that he is supposed to come to a school called Hogwarts where he will train as a wizard for the next seven years. Harry is also informed that his parent’s were killed by the most powerful wizard, Voldemort, and Harry somehow caused Voldemort to disappear. For school that year, Harry attends Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft. He meets Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger, who soon become his best friends. All three of them are the house of Gryffindor. However, there is something weird going on at Hogwarts, and when Harry discovers a hallway with a giant dog, he realizes that one of his professors is after what the dog is protecting. Harry, Ron, and Hermione go through a series of puzzles before Harry comes face to face with Voldemort once again, who is on the back of the head of one of his professors. Harry retrieves the sorcerer’s stone, what Voldemort was after, and sent Voldemort away once again.

I absolutely loved this book. It was extremely amazing and enjoyable. It was very well written and creative. I loved how J.K. Rowling created a new world filled with wizards and witches. Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t stop. The Sorcerer’s Stone was full of adventure, excitement, and magic. The characters were very well developed. Although, this book was extremely good, I must say that it was my least favorite of all seven books in the Harry Potter series.

My favorite part of this book was when Harry came face to face with Voldemort again. This part was very unexpected and unpredictable. This part was very suspenseful and scary because I didn’t know what would happen next. I don’t believe that I would change anything about this book, as the story was extremely well planned and written.

I would recommend this book to almost everybody, especially those who enjoy fiction and fantasy books. I believe that this book is wonderful and many people would enjoy reading it as much as I did.

It is appealing to everyone of all ages and of both genders! J.K. Rowling is an amazing author and she wrote beautifully! She was very descriptive and she is very creative! 3. Harry Potter and the (Sorcer’s) Philosopher’s Stone is an amazing start to the story. The book has a bit of action, but it is more of a philosophical story that teaches the young readers about important life lessons – at least that is what I have taken out of it. This book is the first of JK Rowling, a British author, has ever written. It is about an abused orphan named Harry that is treated like trash by his Uncle Vernon and his Aunt Pentunia, his mother’s elder sister. His cousin Dudley, who is obviously the “prince” of the family while Harry is the “servant” or perhaps “slave” of the family, thought that Harry was his favorite punching bag. One day, Harry recieves a letter and his Uncle and Aunt are very scared because he recieved a letter. They took Harry away so he could not find out about what the letters that had been coming said. A quite large man knocks down the door and relays to Harry that he is a wizard, his parents were murdered by the man, if you could call him that, that Harry had destroyed and taken the spirit out of the evil person. Harry starts at his wizard boarding school, Hogwarts, and adapts the life of being famous and the life of a true wizard. He deals with the longing for a family, as he looks upon the magical wonder of the Mirror of Erised, and he finds his inner strength. He confronts his fears by facing the evil Lord Voldemort, and he does what is right in the face of adversity — saving the lives of many by taking the risk of saving the sorcerer’s stone and losing him and his friend’s lives.
