Twilight is the first book of the Twilight Saga, written by bestselling author Stephenie Meyer. This intense and romantic book has a ton of plot twists that will attract all readers. Vampires become more real than ever.

The book starts off with Bella Swan who moves from Phoenix, Arizona to Forks, Washington to live with her father, Charlie. Forks is much different from Phoenix with its rainy days and no sunshine, however Bella manages to get used to the weather. Her first day of high school is filled with stares, but she soon makes many friends. Her personality is the shy kind, yet many boys go crazy over her and try to compete for her attention. She seems uninterested in all of them until she catches a glimpse of Edward Cullen. He is stunningly good-looking, however in their first meeting, he seems repulsed by her. He disappears  for a while and when he returns, he all of sudden becomes intrigued and warms up to her. An unexpected event occurs when Bella almost dies from a car crash. But, Edward was there to save her with his super strength ability by stopping the van with only one hand. Bella seems confused and flabbergasted by his actions which peeks her curiosity. As their friendship grows closer, Bella vexes Edward with numerous questions about how he saved her life. Later, she hears that Edward and his family are known as vampires who are nice enough not to kill humans, but drink animal blood from a friend, Jacob Black. Eventually, Edward comes to Bella’s rescue again and later that day, Bella reveals her theory of him being a vampire, and he accepts the fact that he can’t hide his secret any longer. This is when their actual love story begins. After being introduced to his family, Bella feels welcomed and pleased about what has happened so far. However, little did she know that she would come across an enormous problem that would risk her life. James, a tracker vampire who is fascinated by the Cullens’ relationship with a human, desires to hunt Bella for sport. The struggle to keep her alive begins. The rest of the story reveals what happens to Bella and eventually Edward.

This book has been one of the best books I have ever read. I couldn’t put this book down at any moment. Stephenie does an excellent job combining the intensity and romance genres and tying it up with a bit of suspense. This is an magnificent book for all readers who enjoy a good read. I definitely enjoyed it a lot throughout each and every page. The book ends with a cliffhanger, and it convinced me to finish the series. I’m glad I have read this wonderful book, and I will definitely recommend this book for all the book lovers out there.
